Veteran national media personality Dominique Da Diva, host of The Dominique Da Diva Radio Show, was named to the inaugural HBCU First Look 100 “I Aspire” List.
The list salutes significant content creators in the film, television, and broadcast industries and includes such notables as Oprah Winfrey, Nick Cannon, Spike Lee, Common, Michael Strahan, Arsenio Hall, and Taraji P. Henson.
Kashon Powell, Urban One’s vice president of programming, says, “I’ve been with Diva right from the beginning 10 years ago when I hired her for her first radio position in Norfolk. I’m thrilled to see he get the recognition she deserves as one of the top 100 recognized HBCU alums who are shining such a positive light in preparing the next generation of content creators.”

Dominique currently hosts The Dominique Da Diva Radio show, which airs simultaneously on Urban One’s WKYS-FM in Washington, D.C., and WERQ-FM in Baltimore, MD, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. as well as middays on WCDX in her hometown of Richmond.
Dominique also co-hosts the widely popular podcast Divas Unfiltered, now in its fourth season, with her best friend and fellow WKYS and 92Q media personality Chey Parker (92.3 Baltimore). She can also be seen weekly on Fox 5 DC with her entertainment and culture reports.
Connecting back to her HBCU roots at Virginia State University, the award-winning radio personality/podcast host also loves giving back helping to pave the way for future media professionals.
Her “Media Queen in Charge Brunch” is used to inspire young women pursuing careers in media by providing them with first-hand insight and one to one empowerment.
Dominique says, “I strive to bring out the inner diva in every one of my listeners and push everyone to pursue every facet of their life’s purpose.”
The Diva also gives back by hosting one of the largest HBCU College festivals in the nation, sponsored by the Alfred Street Baptist Church and the Alfred Street Baptist Church Foundation.
She will be hosting the festival this year again virtually and in-person on November 17 and 18.
