Naira Marley Drops “Girls Just Wanna Have Funds”

Naira Marley — hailed by NPR as “one of the greatest and most celebrated artists performing and producing in the Afrobeat scene today” — releases brand new track “Girls Just Wanna Have Funds” with an accompanying video directed by WG Films – STREAM HERE / WATCH HERE

Produced by Vibez Ace who previously worked with Naira on his latest single “Vawulence” featuring BackRoad Gee, “Girls Just Wanna Have Funds” represents the ulterior motives women have dating and marks Naira’s annual festive Detty December release. The new jam also follows on a whirlwind month that has seen the release of “Vawulence,” a new feature on WizKid‘s More Love, Less Ego album standout “WOW” alongside Skepta.

After years of solidifying his reputation as both the pioneer of Afro/Hip-Hop and a prominent voice of the streets, Marley’s unique sonic palette draws on his transcontinental upbringing between Peckham and Lagos marrying the raw, unpolished tones of UK rap, the Yoruba language, and the sounds of the diaspora as heard on his 2022 debut album God’s Timing’s The Best.
