Apple has launched the first developer beta of iOS 26.4, featuring a new AI functionality for Apple Music known as ‘Playlist Playground.’ This innovative tool allows users to generate playlists based on textual descriptions, enhancing the personalization experience within the app.
The Playlist Playground can be accessed through the Apple Music app by selecting the new playlist icon located in the upper-right corner of the ‘Library’ page. Users can input a text prompt, and the system will automatically curate a playlist tailored to the request. Additionally, it offers built-in suggestions labeled as ‘New Playlist Ideas’ to inspire users.
Once a playlist is generated, users have the flexibility to manage it by adding or removing tracks and rearranging the order of songs. The feature also allows for iterative refinement, enabling users to modify the playlist further without needing to restart the creation process.
For those who do not see the Playlist Playground option after updating to iOS 26.4, it may be due to the new Apple Intelligence models still in the process of downloading. Users can verify this by navigating to the ‘Apple Intelligence & Siri’ settings menu. Currently, iOS 26.4 is available exclusively to developer beta testers, with a public beta anticipated in the coming weeks.
