Apple Music is set to enhance its user experience with the introduction of a new feature called Playlist Playground, which is currently in the iOS 26.4 developer beta. This innovative tool allows users to generate playlists based solely on short text prompts that describe a mood or theme.
Users can input prompts such as “morning coffee music” or “hip-hop party songs,” and Apple Music will automatically curate a playlist of 25 tracks with a custom title. This feature aims to streamline the playlist creation process, making it accessible for users seeking inspiration without the need for extensive manual curation.
Once the iOS 26.4 update is publicly released, Playlist Playground will be available within the Apple Music app. Users can easily navigate to the Library section and select the option to create a new playlist, where they will find the Playlist Playground feature. In addition to generating playlists, users will have the ability to customize cover images and descriptions, as well as share their creations on their Apple Music profiles.
The current beta version of iOS 26.4 is limited to developers, with a public beta expected to launch soon and a wider consumer release anticipated in the spring. As the music streaming market continues to evolve, Apple Music’s Playlist Playground offers a unique approach to playlist generation that could attract users looking for convenient and personalized music curation tools.
