‘Songs For Selina’ Premieres in Philippine Cinemas

The music-themed drama ‘Songs For Selina’ is scheduled for release in Philippine cinemas on March 18. This film provides a compelling exploration of ambition and the inherent challenges within the music industry.

Starring Mica Javier and Rachel Coates, the narrative follows Selina and Maya, two aspiring musicians whose dreams begin to unravel amidst the industry’s power dynamics and competitive pressures. The film transitions from a harmonious partnership to a tense struggle for survival, reflecting the harsh realities faced by artists.

Having previously secured distribution with Amazon Prime US and Tubi for its North American audience, ‘Songs For Selina’ now returns to its roots, targeting local viewers with its authentic storytelling.

Produced by Homeworkz Entertainment and distributed in the Philippines by Black Cap Pictures, the film features a diverse ensemble cast, including Rachel Alejandro, Audie Gemora, Nicole Laurel, Leanne Mamonong, Gian Magdangal, and executive producer Jay R. The original motion picture soundtrack, co-written and produced by Jay R, is designed to enhance the film’s narrative, with each song crafted to align with the storyline.

‘Songs For Selina’ aims to resonate with audiences by portraying the highs and lows of the music industry while addressing the often-unspoken truths that accompany the pursuit of artistic ambition.
