While purchasing lottery tickets inside a convenience store on Eighth Avenue near 40th Street around 10:50 a.m., police said a male suspect first targeted the victim. Cops said he approached the victim and tried to grab his wallet. The elderly victim managed to hold on to his property. The perpetrator is still at large.

Video shows at least three mortified bystanders standing nearby, back away during the horrific attack.

The clip shows the suspect, dressed in a striped gray and white Nautica sweatshirt and black pants, towering over the man and kicking him multiple times as he tries to take the victim’s wallet.

After another man approaches the scene, the suspect gives up and walks away empty-handed, the video shows. The suspect fled into the subway entrance on the same corner, police said.

The suspect was shown hopping the turnstile by surveillance video from inside the station.

EMS took the victim to Bellevue Hospital, police said. He suffered pain, swelling, and an abrasion around his left eye.
