This year marks a pivotal moment for the Australian music industry, as streaming services have effectively eliminated geographical barriers, positioning platforms like Spotify as vital export channels for Australian talent. Sia stands out as a key figure, becoming the first artist to secure the top spot on the Global Impact List twice, with her collaboration with David Guetta, “Beautiful People,” achieving the highest international streams from Australia in 2025.
Other prominent artists include Tame Impala, whose album “Deadbeat” produced seven entries in the Top 50, with “Dracula” ranking second overall. The Kid LAROI also maintained strong global traction, placing seven tracks on the list, including his collaboration with Tate McRae, which reached number three. Emerging artists, such as Lithe and kiki wera, further illustrate the diversity and growth of Australian music on the global stage.
The report also emphasizes a notable trend in the streaming economy: the enduring popularity of catalogue tracks.
