Sony/ATV Signs Scott Weiland STP Catalog Deal

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed a worldwide deal to represent the late Scott Weiland’s song catalog with Stone Temple Pilots. Weiland co-founded the influential California alternative rock band and was the co-writer and frontman for their first six albums. This sequence began with their RIAA-certified, eight-times platinum debut Core, which included the Grammy-nominated No. 1 “Plush” and the hits “Sex Type Thing,” “Creep” and “Wicked Garden.”The group’s second album Purple debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S., was certified six-times platinum and featured the Modern Rock chart-toppers “Vasoline” and “Interstate Love Song.”�Weiland also led the group on Tiny Music…

Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop, which included the No. 1 songs “Big Bang Baby,” “Trippin’ On A Hole In A Paper Heart” and “Lady Picture Show,” No. 4, Shangri-La Dee Da and Stone Temple Pilots, their last album on which he was featured.
