Detavio Samuels Named COO of REVOLT Media & TV

Roma Khanna, CEO of REVOLT MEDIA & TV, announced today that Detavio Samuels has been named COO for REVOLT.

Samuels will oversee all aspects of programming and content including original development, content acquisitions, physical production, and post-production, as well as responsibility for video content and strategy for REVOLT’s digital platforms. He will also oversee insights, creative, consumer marketing, and PR. Samuels will report directly to Khanna, who has led REVOLT, the home of Hip Hop culture owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs, to its successful position as a premier multiplatform brand for Gen Hip Hop and its authentic cultural relevance.

As part of this new role, Samuels will have a leadership role in REVOLT’s continued positioning as a home for content and creators in unscripted, documentary and lifestyle programming, all from the Hip Hop lense across all its platforms. He will build on REVOLT’s current successes with The Breakfast Club, State of the Culture, Drink Champs, REVOLT BLACK NEWS and digital content such as Mac. Further, Samuels will work with the teams to position the brand with consumers and harness partnership opportunities.

Samuels joins REVOLT from Interactive One and One Solution/OneX where he was president, responsible for driving the overall growth of iOne, the company’s digital media platform that produces and distributes news and pop culture content, as a subsidiary of Urban One, Inc. Further he was charged with One Solution/OneX, the cross-platform sales, brand solution and branded entertainment group for the company.
