Today, PG County croonerReggie Bectonmakes a smooth return with his first solo single of 2023“Life” released via ONErpm. The track arrives on the heels of Becton hinting at hisforthcoming albumin a recent Instagram post, a clear indication that more new music is on the horizon.

“Life”is a sultry reggae-infused lovemaking anthem that feels like an audible LSD trip. The R&B newcomer’s dreamy Marvin Gaye-esque inspired vocals feel hypnotic, taking listeners on a sonic journey with Becton promising to provide for his lover. The relatability is palpable throughout as he embraces a swirl of emotions and nonlinear thoughts.“Life”was produced by Jahnei Clarke (Masego), Aidan Carroll (THEY), and Myboyjon (Umi).

On the new track, Becton explains:

‘Life’ is one of my favorite songs from the upcoming project. It contains so many different sonic elements but they all complement each other so well. It’s soul, it’s reggae, it’s R&B. It’s about time I spent with someone I thought I could never have, but once I got them I knew ‘life’ would never be the same.

“Life” is a continuation of Becton’s from-the-heart approach to storytelling (evidenced in songs like Call feat. Nana and Sway) as he leads with vulnerability to work through his feelings. Not to mention, it builds on the artistic ecosystem introduced with his impassioned debut album, California which now has over 10 million streams after receiving praise from media outlets like Rated R&B, Earmilk, Billboard, and Okayplayer to name a few.

Alongside breathing new life into the next chapter of his artistry, Becton embarked on a three-city headlining run as part of his annual HOME concert series. Plus, he just revealed that he’s joining Sebastian Mikael as support for the ‘Phileo Tour’ on select dates March 24th in Oakland, CA and March 26th in Seattle, WA.
