Record-Breaking Radiothon Helps Memphis Families in Need

98.1 The Max, Memphis’ popular rock station, raised over $1 million for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis during its annual Radiothon on November 7th.

This marks a record-breaking achievement, and it’s the second consecutive year the station has topped the $1 million mark in its community-driven event.

The one-day Radiothon, aired live from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, utilized the station’s on-air and digital platforms to promote the cause and engage listeners. Throughout the day, special family features highlighted the critical support provided by the Ronald McDonald House.

All the funds raised directly supported housing, meals, and other vital services for families staying at the House, offering them a safe, supportive environment while their children receive medical care.

Danni Bruns, Program Director at 98.1 The Max, expressed gratitude to the Memphis community for their incredible generosity. “Every dollar raised helps provide a home-away-from-home for families facing unimaginable challenges. We’re honored to be part of something so meaningful,” Bruns said.

Morgan Bohannon, Cumulus Memphis’ Vice President/Market Manager, also highlighted the impact of the event, noting that local radio’s ability to connect with and support the community is at the heart of this success. “The Ronald McDonald House is a lifeline for families, and we’re proud to support their mission,” Bohannon added.

The funds raised from the event will ensure families facing medical crises can focus on what matters most: their child’s healing, without the added burden of housing or meals.
