Kostow Greenwood Architects Expands NYC Team

Looks like Kostow Greenwood is making waves in NYC with their stunning new broadcast spaces. Keep an eye on them.

Kostow Greenwood Architects, a prominent firm in the realm of broadcast and performance arts design, is currently seeking a Junior Architect/Designer to bolster their New York City team. Established over 25 years ago, Kostow Greenwood has gained recognition for their approach to creating environments that not only meet technical demands but also foster creativity. Their portfolio includes a mix of new constructions, historic renovations, and innovative interior designs, all tailored to serve the unique needs of media and performing arts.

The firm has crafted several noteworthy projects in the heart of New York City, exemplifying their design philosophy. One of their standout undertakings is the WNYC Radio and Greene Performance Space, which occupies four floors at 160 Varick Street. This impressive facility boasts ten production studios, a master control room, and a performance venue accommodating 130 guests. It has successfully achieved LEED Gold certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainable design.

Another significant project is the MTV Networks Central Editing and Network Operations facility located in Times Square. Spanning 50,000 square feet, this space consolidates multiple production units into a cohesive environment that enhances post-production workflows. The design includes open ceilings and exposed building services, facilitating flexibility in technical infrastructure while ensuring a smooth transition from analog to digital production.

The CNN Prime-Time Production Hub, covering an expansive 250,000 square feet within the Time Warner Center, serves as the backbone for CNN’s prime-time news operations. This site features interconnected newsrooms and studios, optimized for live filming and equipped with materials that meet on-air standards.

Lastly, Kostow Greenwood is currently involved in the first phase of a multi-year renovation at SiriusXM’s New York headquarters. The redesign of the 6,000-square-foot lobby and live performance studio includes new support facilities, updating the space with modern aesthetics and functionality.

Kostow Greenwood’s projects not only enhance the user experience but also push the boundaries of architectural design in the media sector. As they continue to expand their team, the firm remains at the forefront of transforming the spaces where important broadcast moments come to life.
