Peermusic has announced the promotion of Jody Farber to Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Bill Gorjance, who is retiring after 20 years in the role. Farber, who joined the company in 2024 as Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategy, will oversee all financial operations, including global treasury, financial planning, budgeting, accounting, management reporting, and deal analysis. She will report directly to CEO Mary Megan Peer from the company’s New York office.
Gorjance has played a significant role in Peermusic’s growth, helping to triple revenues over the past decade and leading the company’s expansions into key markets such as Korea and China. He will continue to serve part-time as the International Vice President of the Classical music division, a position he has held concurrently during his tenure as CFO.
Farber brings 25 years of experience in finance and operations within the music and entertainment industry, having held senior roles at World Wrestling Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music Entertainment. Her extensive background includes significant positions in financial reporting and accounting, as well as leadership roles in various finance committees within the South African music sector.
This executive transition follows a series of appointments at Peermusic, which has also seen Erik Brataas take on the role of Managing Director Norway/Head of Northern European Administration, and Paul Smelt promoted to Chief Operating Officer. The company continues to strengthen its leadership team, aiming to enhance its financial strategies and operational excellence in the global music landscape.
