Sony Music Publishing Nashville has signed singer, songwriter, and artist Jonny Capeci to a global publishing agreement, partnering on the deal with Kane Brown and Verse 2 Music—the publishing company led by industry veteran Kent Earls.
Capeci is already well known in Nashville as the lead singer and a songwriter in the alternative-pop band Nightly, where his vocals and introspective, experience-driven lyrics have shaped the group’s signature sound.
Nightly has collected 400+ million streams worldwide and has shared stages with NF, The Midnight, Andy Grammer, Kane Brown, and Imagine Dragons.
Outside of Nightly, Capeci has built a reputation as a cross-genre collaborator, writing with artists including Kane Brown, 24kGoldn, G Herbo, Carin León, Jake Miller, Ayokay, and Valley.
His recent credits include “Body Talk” by Kane and Katelyn Brown, which broke into Mediabase’s US Hot AC Radio charts, and Carin León’s “The One (Pero No Como Yo)”, featured on the GRAMMY award-winning album Boca Chueca, Vol. 1.
His songs have also landed major sync placements. These include Kane Brown’s “Country Classic” from the GRAMMY-nominated Twisters soundtrack, plus “My City” by 24kGoldn and Kane Brown featuring G Herbo, which appeared on the Fast X soundtrack.
Capeci shared that he feels “incredibly blessed” to join the Verse 2 and Sony family, thanking Kane, Kent, Rusty, and the team for their support.
Verse 2’s Kent Earls described Capeci as a rare talent who can “seamlessly move between genres and musical styles,” and said the company is excited to welcome him to the roster.
Sony Music Publishing Nashville CEO Rusty Gaston added that writers like Capeci are part of what makes Nashville’s creative community “special and thriving,” calling him both an “electric artist” and a “compelling and trusted songwriter.”
