KEGL Dallas Afternoon Host Russ Martin Found Dead In Home

Frisco, TX police report that a 12:30 am call last night was for an unresponsive male who turned out to be iHeartMedia Rock “97.1 The Eagle” KEGL Dallas afternoon host Russ Martin. He was 60. He spend his entire radio career in the Dallas area and he began in the early 80s.

He had jobs at 1310 KAAM, 92.5 KAFM, the Satellite Music Network. He initially joined KEGL in 1987 and remained at the Radio Station through format changes until its shift to Rock where he was promoted to do mornings in 1997.Authorities state no immediate cause of death or foul play was determined.
