Hinton, Meyer, Shapiro Join NAB Radio Board

Henry Hinton, Ignacio Meyer and Shoshana Shapiro have been appointed to the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Radio Board of Directors to fill vacancies. Hinton is president of Inner Banks Media; Meyer is president of Univision Networks Group, and Shapiro is senior vice president of corporate communications and marketing for Cumulus Media.

The appointments, made by Radio Board Chair Collin Jones in accordance with NAB bylaws, are effective immediately.

Henry Hinton is a broadcaster, businessman and president of Inner Banks Media (IBX), which operates five FM radio stations in eastern North Carolina. He hosts eastern North Carolina’s popular syndicated radio show, “Talk of the Town,” and previously served as president of the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters.

Hinton has received several accolades, including the Outstanding Alumni Award from his alma mater, East Carolina University; Greenville’s Business Leader of the Year in 2002, and the Legends Award from the Greenville Chamber of Commerce in 2023. He was inducted into the North Carolina Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2015 and is an active supporter of higher education.

Ignacio Meyer is president of Univision Networks Group at TelevisaUnivision, the world’s leading Spanish-language media company. In his current role, Meyer oversees programming strategy and operations for the company’s portfolio of leading properties in the United States, which include Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and TUDN, as well as Univision’s radio and local television stations.

With more than 20 years of experience in the media, music and entertainment industry, Meyer has earned recognition for his work, including being named to Billboard’s 2022 and 2023 Latin Power Players list and as Executive of the Month on Billboard en Español.Shoshana Shapiro is senior vice president of corporate communications and marketing for Cumulus Media, one of the country’s largest audio companies, where she has worked since October 2015.

Shapiro leads Cumulus Media’s internal and external communications, oversees local sales marketing efforts, implements initiatives across the company’s many platforms, and is a member of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Steering Committee. She has been recognized as one of Radio Ink’s Most Influential Women in Radio for three consecutive years, highlighting her leadership and impact in the industry.
