Deezer, the Paris-based music streaming service, has announced the availability of its AI music detection technology to the broader music industry. This decision follows a notable increase in AI-generated music uploads, which averaged 60,000 tracks daily in January 2026, representing approximately 39% of all new daily uploads on the platform.
Despite the surge in AI-generated content, these tracks accounted for only 3% of total streams on Deezer. The platform’s data from 2025 indicated that up to 85% of streams attributed to AI-generated music were identified as fraudulent. In comparison, streaming fraud across Deezer’s entire catalog was reported at 8% during the same timeframe.
Deezer’s AI detection system has been instrumental in identifying and mitigating fraudulent streams. The company emphasized its commitment to transparency for fans and the protection of artists’ rights. By implementing measures to detect, tag, and remove fraudulent AI-generated tracks from algorithmic recommendations, Deezer aims to safeguard the royalties of human artists and songwriters by demonetizing streams associated with fraudulent activity.
