Cowboys Football Comes to Austin: iHeartMedia Deal

The Dallas Cowboys have entered into an exciting new broadcast partnership with iHeartMedia Austin, bringing the live play-by-play coverage of every Cowboys game to 98.1 KVET, Austin’s top country station. Fans across Central Texas can catch every snap, touchdown, and thrilling moment live on-air, with pregame and postgame shows also airing on KVET. These broadcasts will be available to stream for free on the iHeartRadio app throughout the season.

The live coverage will feature the legendary Brad Sham, who returns to the booth for his award-winning play-by-play commentary, alongside former Cowboys quarterback, Babe Laufenberg, as the full-time color analyst. Veteran reporter Kristi Scales will also provide live updates and insights directly from the sidelines, ensuring fans don’t miss any of the action.

“This partnership brings Cowboys football to one of the most powerful FM stations in Central Texas,” said Douglas Barricklow, Affiliate Relations for The Dallas Cowboys Radio Network. “98.1 KVET’s established fanbase makes it the perfect destination for Cowboys fans to tune in all season long.”

Jason McCollim, Director of Operations for iHeartMedia Texas, expressed pride in the collaboration: “From the city to the Hill Country, fans will now hear America’s Team loud and clear on 98.1 KVET all season long.”

Christine Escobar, Market President of iHeartMedia Austin, added that the Cowboys’ legacy and the energy they inspire resonates deeply with Austin’s sports community, making this partnership a game-changer for the station group.

iHeartMedia Austin, the dominant media outlet in the region, is leveraging its powerful platforms – including broadcast stations, live events, and its iHeartRadio digital service – to bring fans closer to every moment of the Cowboys season.
