Bad Bunny’s nonprofit organization, Fundación Good Bunny, is launching a significant free educational initiative for Puerto Rican youth, offering labels and publishers a direct model for investing in local talent pipelines without commercial gatekeeping. The 2026 edition of “Un Verano Contigo” will enroll 270 participants in a three-week intensive program focused on art, fashion, music, and sports, creating a structured environment for developing the next generation of creative industry professionals.
Expanded Curriculum for Creative Careers
The program features an expanded curriculum designed to expose young people to viable career paths within the music and entertainment sectors. Artists, educators, and creative professionals from across the island will lead workshops at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan. The music tracks are divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels to accommodate varying skill sets, ensuring that participants with different tiers of knowledge can engage meaningfully. Specific workshops will cover music production, performance, audio recording, and beatmaking, while also providing networking opportunities and showcases with local musicians.
Building Talent Infrastructure in Puerto Rico
José “Che Juan” Torres, director of the Good Bunny Foundation, emphasized that the initiative addresses the critical need for access to experiences and tools that inspire youth to grow. Torres stated that Puerto Rico holds incredible talent, and the program aims to help young people discover their potential and build self-confidence. By offering specialized mentorships and professional development opportunities, the foundation is actively building the infrastructure necessary for Puerto Rican artists to succeed globally. This approach mirrors the industry’s growing recognition that sustainable talent development requires early intervention and access to high-quality resources.
The initiative aligns with Bad Bunny’s broader commercial success, as his current “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” world tour has already grossed over $1 billion, making him the first Latin artist to reach this milestone. While the tour dominates the commercial landscape, “Un Verano Contigo” serves as a non-commercial counterweight, ensuring that the economic boom generated by the artist translates into tangible educational opportunities for the community. The program runs from July 10 to July 21, 2026, providing a focused window for intensive skill acquisition and industry exposure.
