Dunn will be the administrative partner to Kent Thielen, M.D., CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida.

“AJ is a truly tremendous, innovative leader with a strong track record of contributions to our organization,” says Dr. Thielen. “Over nearly two decades at Mayo Clinic in Florida, he has helped advance and transform the organization, and I look forward to partnering with AJ as we lead Mayo Clinic in Florida together and advance the future of health care.”

Dunn is chair of the advanced care at home program for Mayo Clinic’s Center for Digital Health. This program allows patients to receive care for complex conditions in the convenience of their homes, helping to control the rising costs of health care while improving patient outcomes.

Prior to his work with the advanced care at home program, Dunn was associate administrator for hospital operations and medicine, and operations administrator for Medicine, Hospital Operations, Surgery and Individualized Medicine. Dunn joined Mayo Clinic in 2002 as an administrative fellow.

As chief administrative officer for Mayo Clinic in Florida, Dunn will oversee the organization’s administrative functions and provide financial stewardship of its resources.

“AJ is a thoughtful and engaging leader who keeps the needs of the patients at the center of every decision,” says Zorn. “His demonstrated success across numerous roles and commitment to Mayo Clinic’s values make him an exceptional partner with Kent to lead Mayo Clinic in Florida, and I look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish.”

Dunn earned a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Florida. He is a regent-at-large for the American College of Healthcare Executives and is on the board of directors for the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida. He is an alumnus of Leadership Jacksonville and has been a member of several other civic and nonprofit organizations, including the Jacksonville Housing and Community Development Commission, the Better Jacksonville Plan’s Finance Administration Committee, the American Lung Association’s Southeastern U.S. Chapter, and United Way.
