KZOK’s 23rd Annual Rock The Harvest Raises $16K

iHeartMedia Seattle’s 102.5 KZOK, the Classic Rock station, announced today that the 23rd annual “Rock The Harvest” radiothon raised over $116,000 to benefit Northwest Harvest, Washington State’s leading hunger relief agency which supports a statewide network of 375 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools. The 12-hour broadcast took place Thursday, October 1 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

“Rock The Harvest” was hosted by The Danny Bonaduce and Sarah Morning Show on-air personalities. Listeners were encouraged to call in to the show and donate $102.50, enough funds to provide nutritious meals to a family of four for a month.

“KZOK’s ‘Rock the Harvest’ has taken place in other challenging years, but this year is a unique challenge for our community,” said KZOK program director, Chris Sargent. “It is such a reward to hear listeners, our on-air talent and our business partners come together for a such a worthy cause.”

Over the past 23 years, “Rock the Harvest” has raised over $1.3 million to benefit Northwest Harvest.

“2020’s ‘Rock the Harvest’ radiothon was more important this year than ever as we face incredibly difficult circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on food insecurity here at home,” said Northwest Harvest CEO, Thomas Reynolds. “With nearly 2 million people facing food insecurity in Washington, every donation made to Northwest Harvest from this event allows us to offer more families and individuals equitable access to nutritious food. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated and our team is working around the clock to keep our neighbors nourished and healthy.”

“Rock The Harvest” was presented by Evergreen Home Loans. Additional sponsors included Tacoma Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Beacon Plumbing, Papa John’s Pizza, Taco Time and Whistle Workwear.

102.5 KZOK is the leading media outlet in the Seattle market with multiple platforms, including its broadcast station; live events; data; and its digital businesses and platforms, including mobile, social and its own iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia’s free all-in-one digital music, podcasting and live streaming radio service – with more than 2 billion app downloads and more than 140 million registered users.
