Ariana Grande’s Los Angeles Tearful Tour Stop Draws Industry Attention

Ariana Grande turned her Los Angeles stop into a moment of pure emotion, and that kind of crowd reaction matters because live performance remains one of the clearest ways artists, labels and rights holders measure fan loyalty in real time. At Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night, Grande became overwhelmed while performing the second of four shows on The Eternal Sunshine Tour.

Grande breaks down in front of a roaring crowd

About 90 minutes into the show, Grande paused to speak to the audience as they responded with loud cheers and applause. She thanked fans for their support and said she had “never in my life experienced a crowd like this,” calling the moment “so overwhelming in the most beautiful way ever.” She wiped away tears as she spoke, then continued thanking the crowd for being “so loving.”

As the audience kept cheering, Grande said, “This means so much to me,” and added that her fans had been “such a loving, safe presence” throughout her life and career. She also said the crowd would make her cry more if they kept applauding, joking, “You know I’m a cancer. This is going to happen.”

A return to touring after a long pause

Grande said she had not toured since 2019, making The Eternal Sunshine Tour a return to the stage after years spent filming, promoting and performing on behalf of the Wicked franchise for Universal Pictures alongside Cynthia Erivo for director Jon M. Chu. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Universal chairman Donna Langley attended Sunday night’s show and was seated in one of Crypto.com Arena’s VIP suites.

Grande also mixed humor into the emotional moment, saying it was her first time touring while wearing contact lenses and joking that it was “so nice to see you for the first time in my life.” She closed her remarks by thanking fans for being there from 2013’s “Honeymoon Avenue” to 2025’s “Hampstead,” then performed “Hampstead.”

Hit-heavy setlist and a milestone chart moment

The setlist included “yes, and?”, “positions,” “thank u, next,” “7 rings,” “Rain on Me,” “Break Free,” “Dangerous Woman,” “we can’t be friends” and “Hate That I Made You Love Me.” The article says “Hate That I Made You Love Me” became her milestone 10th Hot 100 No. 1.

The Live Nation-produced tour supports Grande’s seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, released on March 8, 2024, via Republic Records, and its deluxe follow-up, Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead, which arrived a year later. The tour also comes ahead of her eighth studio album, Petals, set for release on July 31.

Celebrity turnout adds to the run

The Los Angeles shows are already drawing celebrity attention. The article says Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were spotted at Saturday night’s L.A. performance.

What to watch next: Grande is scheduled to complete four performances at Crypto.com Arena, and her next album, Petals, is set for release on July 31.
