For this first time in her illustrious career, Beyonce came under severe scrutiny for singing the national anthem to a pre-recorded vocal during ‘s inaugural ceremony last month. After a relentless media attack, Knowles offered no excuses and then silenced all critics with a beautiful life, a cappella rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” at the press conference to promote her Super Bowl halftime performance set.

  1. I can only hope that the striking parallels between Ms. Knowles’ story and Whitney Houston’s will end soon.
    Both women started as startlingly talented, beautiful and sweet. Both had Christian upbringings with roots in gospel. Both uncharacteristally married successful “bad boy” musicians. And, like Ms. Houston, it seems Beyonce’s persona is slowly changing to that of a spoiled diva living in her own universe.
    Time will tell if Beyonce writes her own history or follows the path that appears to have been laid out for her.
