WPGC TO HONOR DONNIE SIMPSON…

“>rapper, record player, love songs” alt=”” border=”0″ />WPGC TO HONOR DONNIE SIMPSON’S 30 YEARS OF BROADCASTING IN THE NATION’S CAPITAL

On Friday, Aug. 24th, 8:00pm at Washington DC’s Historic Warner Theater; WPGC-FM will celebrate “30 years of Donnie Simpson!” The tribute show will include artists, listeners, celebrities, family and friends who have been touched by Donnie over the course of his 30 years of dedication to Metro Washington, D.C.

While hundreds of tickets will be given away, a special ticket will be available for 1,000 listeners to purchase with all proceeds going to benefit the Donnie and Pam Simpson Scholarship Foundation.

In August 1977, a popular Detroit DJ named Donnie Simpson packed up a U-Haul and moved his family to Washington, D.C. The Detroit native had already made a name in his home-town as a personality on one of the Motor City’s top radio stations.
