Wayfinder Foundation Opens Application Process for Fellowship in DC, Memphis, and Oakland

The Wayfinder Foundation announced today it is currently accepting applications for the second cohort of the Community Activists Fellowship program from applicants living and doing work in the Washington, DC; Memphis, Tennessee and, Oakland, California.

“Wayfinder was founded with the mission of supporting activists, particularly women and mothers of color, who are working in their communities to bring about changes that are so desperately needed,” said Angela Hackley, Wayfinder’s Chief Program Officer. “We found during the application process for the first cohort in Indianapolis and Los Angeles, that investments of real resources can and will make a difference in the lives of our Fellows and the communities they are fighting for.

As we said before, the needs of children, families, and communities are urgent. Who better to meet those needs than the women who best understand the challenges?”

The Foundation announced its first cohort of Fellows last week in a press announcement when they awarded fourteen women of color in Indianapolis, Indiana and Los Angeles, California with resources that will help them begin to have an immediate impact on the work they are doing in their communities.

Wayfinder will host an informational webinar on June 13, 2018, at 2 pm EST for potential applicants. More information on the Fellowship and registration for the webinar can be found on the Wayfinder Foundation’s website at wayfinder.foundation.

Interview opportunities with Wayfinder leadership are available by contacting Tanzi West Barbour, Chief Communications Officer, twb@wayfinder.foundation.
