Andra Day “Rise Up” Video by M. Night Shyamalan

Today, Andra Day releases the M. Night Shyamalan-directed visuals for her inspirational anthem “Rise Up.”

This is the second video of Day’s to be crafted by an acclaimed filmmaker following Spike Lee’s direction of her debut video “Forever Mine.”

CocaCola and McDonald’s recently announced Day as part of their Rise Up ESSENCE® Festival program ahead of her performance at the 2016 Essence Festival in New Orleans. The lyrics from “Rise Up” will appear on 40 million Coca­Cola cups in select McDonald’s restaurants across the nation and include a Shazam-powered portal into a digital experience where they can watch the “I Rise” short film starring Andra Day. Andra Day will grace the cover of ESSENCE Magazine’s June issue.

Andra Day is a San Diego native, known for her soulful jazz voice and her hit record, “Rise Up. ” The record was also nominated for “Best RB Performance” in addition to her debut album Cheers to the Fall at the 2016 Grammy Awards. Rolling Stone named her in its “10 Artists You Need to Know” in June 2015.

In her short career, the singer has performed at the White House for a RayCharlestribute concert and for a Hilary Clinton presidential rally. Andra delivered the message “Rise Up” into millions of homes during her performances on Jimmy Kimmel, The Ellen Show, BET Awards, Good Morning America, and the Wendy Williams Show. The San Diego native first premiered “Rise Up” in a Beats By Dr.
