Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the global leader in music rights management, announced the appointment of Tina Hart as Executive, Writer/Publisher Relations, Europe. In this role, she will be responsible for recruiting new songwriters and music publishers; managing relationships between BMI and its affiliates; establishing and maintaining relationships with music industry executives and tastemakers; and working alongside senior executives on special projects, including the BMI London Awards, showcases and songwriter camps. Hart will report to Brandon Bakshi, Executive Director, Writer/Publisher Relations, Europe and Asia, and she will be based in BMI’s London office.

Prior to joining BMI, Hart was the Deputy Features Editor at Music Week, the leading music industry trade magazine in the UK. There, she conducted interviews with high-profile artists, wrote news and feature stories, increased the brand’s social media presence and served as an expert commentator on BBC National News and BBC Regional Radio. Hart has also been an editorial contributor to MSN UK Entertainment in the music portal, and to SBTV, the UK’s leading online youth broadcaster. Her vast experience in music journalism has resulted in a strong network of industry contacts across media, agencies, management and labels. Hart attended the University of Surrey.
