Weekly Classic Country Program Dedicates its April 4-5 Episode to the Late and Legendary Performer
United Stations and program host Rick Jackson have altered their programming lineup in order to pay tribute to Kenny Rogers on the weekly program “Rick Jackson’s Country Classics.” Rogers, the superstar musician who passed away on Friday evening at the age of 81, was not only a Country hit-maker, but he had also made an impact in pop music and on television. He was a Country Music Hall of Fame member, a three-time Grammy winner and a six-time CMA award winner. Rogers had twenty-four Number 1 hits and a catalogue filled with memorable songs including ”The Gambler,” ”Lady,” ”Lucille,” and ”Islands in the Stream.” Kenny’s history along with those songs and many more will be covered in a special installment of Rick Jackson’s weekly show paying tribute to the late Kenny Rogers titled “Remembering Kenny Rogers.” The episode will be broadcast nationally during the weekend of April 4-5, 2020, and the entire three-hour weekly program will be comprised of Kenny Rogers’ music, his greatest hits and his amazing story.
Rick Jackson’s Country Classics is programmed, written, and hosted by Rick Jackson who also serves as its executive producer. The show’s playlist features tracks from the greatest stars in country music history including Kenny Rogers along with Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Vince Gill, George Jones, Alan Jackson, Waylon Jennings, and Patsy Cline. Their greatest hits and hits by numerous other artists appear each week complemented by colorful stories and thematic editorial covering Country music history. The series, which joined the menu of program offerings at United Stations in 2012, has a schedule of weekly thematic episodes.
Rick Jackson began his career in Country radio in 1974 and has enjoyed a 30-year career in Country music, entertaining audiences behind the microphone and on stage. He served as the first Morning Drive Air Personality for KYGO-FM in Denver, Colorado from 1980 to 1990. His original “Country Hall of Fame” show began airing in 1987 on KYGO. A few stations picked the show up during the 90s and the program went into full national distribution in 2000.
