Introduction

Scammers are targeting clients looking to get their hair braided by using real stylists’ work and creating fake social media pages.

Reports of Scams

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is receiving reports of scams targeting individuals wanting braids. Scammers take pictures from legitimate stylists and post them on fake social media pages.

Modus Operandi

Potential clients find the fake pages and book appointments, often making small deposits. Clients realize they have been scammed when they do not hear back from the supposed stylist on the appointment day.

Impact on Legitimate Businesses

Real stylists like Porsche Hensley, who has been braiding hair for over 10 years and owns Divine Innovation 615 in Nashville, are affected. Hensley reported instances where clients arrived for appointments, only to find out they were scammed.

Precautions to Avoid Scams

BBB advises not to pay for the service in full before the appointment. Visit the stylist’s location before booking. Verify the stylist’s work by searching for them online and including the word “scam” after their name. Ask for the stylist’s license number and verify it.

Continuing the Business

Despite the scams, stylists like Porsche Hensley remain undeterred and continue their work.

Conclusion

Scammers exploiting the popularity of hair braiding are causing issues for both clients and legitimate stylists. Clients are advised to take precautions to ensure they are booking authentic services.

The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Discusses Pastor T.D. Jakes Controversial Statements About Black Women (VIDEO)

The Rickey Smiley Morning Show discussed top Christian pastor T.D. Jakes controversial comments about Black women. Reportedly pastor T.D. Jakes is making very contentious comments about the modern-day black woman, causing a stir in the Christian community. Allegedly many of the pastor’s followers, who are black women, are upset about his latest sermon, said Gary With Da Tea.

MTO has confirmed, saying many claims the message sounded more like something that came out of the mouth of Kevin Samuels than from a spiritual leader, said Gary. They’re saying the pastor spoke out recently, and he blasted black women, added the morning show host. The popular pastor had some harsh words for black women.

“We are raising up women to be men, and you are not applauded for your femininity. You are applauded in the contemporary society by how tough, rough, nasty, mean, aggressive, hateful, possessive you are, and we are climbing the corporate ladder, but we are losing our families. I know you can buy your own car. I know you can buy your own house, but until you create a need that I can pour into, I have no place in your life. So stop coming home bragging to me about how much you don’t need me and wonder why I shy away,” said T.D. Jakes.

Maria More said heard a quote that said it’s not the insult that hurts; it’s the part that is believed to be true. Sometimes people are triggered when they hear certain statements because they see their reflection in the statement. She added that T.D. Jakes’s comments were not offensive to her.

Da Brat said that some might feel that T.D. Jakes’s comments imply that the only place for a woman is to cook and clean for a man. As a pastor, Jakes needs to be a little more careful because women have had the stereotype or have had to bow down to a man for so many years, and the stigma is there that women are only supposed to cook, clean, and have babies, explained.

“Why can’t we be productive and successful, and I’m not saying be aggressive and the negative things and be nasty, but I could see why people would take it this way,” said Da Brat.

The radio host said before met her husband, was aggressive and independent and felt as if had to do everything on her own, and it was a relief to have a man in her life to “lead” the radio host and her family.

“And when I say lead, I don’t mean dragging me by my hair but like leading my family,” added.

Smiley said he would like a mix of both in his relationship with a woman. He likes an independent female who makes money, but when he comes home, he does not want to feel like he is in a courtroom.
