Telly Leung’s taking the Phantom to new heights with a fresh acoustic cover of a classic anthem. The immersive revival of ‘Phantom of the Opera’ is pushing creative boundaries.

Telly Leung, currently portraying the Phantom in the Off-Broadway production of Masquerade, has released an acoustic rendition of the iconic song “Music of the Night.” This recording comes as part of a creative initiative inspired by the reimagined interpretation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical.

In his Instagram post, Leung expressed how performing alongside his talented cast has sparked a desire to reinterpret and cover some of their favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber songs. The acoustic version of “Music of the Night” features guitar accompaniment by Will Shishmanian, adding a fresh feel to this well-known piece.

Masquerade, which officially opened on September 29, 2025, offers a unique immersive theater experience, dividing the audience into six small groups for each performance. This setup allows for distinct interpretations of the Phantom’s character, as it is portrayed by six different actors during the run. Alongside Leung, the cast includes Jeff Kready, Hugh Panaro, Kyle Scatliffe, Clay Singer, and Nik Walker.

Leung’s extensive background in theater includes performances in acclaimed productions such as Aladdin, Rent, and Allegiance. His recent appearances extend beyond the stage, having been featured in the latest season of the streaming series Warrior. With a career worth celebrating, his latest project highlights his versatility as an artist.
