CES Closing Party Emphasizes Early Planning for Attendees

CES Closing PartyEach year reps from CES have invited Radio Facts to cover what has come to be an enormous must attend event for those of us who are interested in the future of technology. Unfortunately, this year I only made the last day because I use the 2 weeks of industry break to plan the next year. Going to a HUGE event like this after that when we are all back to work is overwhelming to say the least but necessary.

Next year, I will plan WAY in advance so that I can attend and get the greatest benefit out of it. I would strongly urge more radio and label people to attend. I know it’s our first week back but I promise you will leave with an education on what’s hot and what’s coming that will blow you away.

Without question, if you are going to attend you have to know that registering for your airfare and hotel room MONTHS in advance is going to get you the best deals. When the time comes, getting there as early as possible will also work to your advantage. I would even suggest on Tuesday before it starts as the national and international press is already talking about it before it gets started.

PLAN. The Event is the biggest event I have ever seen in my life, I’m talking endless showroom floors with every major and independent brand from around the world. No need to work-out but work-out more than usual before you come.

You WILL get the BEST work-out of your life and you will be tested on your stamina just walking the floors of the event. There are plenty of places to take a break but I have never been on showroom floors where thousands of attendees are so in awe of the presentations they rarely talk to each other. Wear comfortable shoes.

This is not the time to be stylish with high end shoes unless they are sneakers with some great support. Finally, plan your trip. Call the people that you want to see in advance and have your presentations ready when you meet them.
