Sony Music Publishing UK today announced the appointment of Shauni Caballero as Senior A&R Manager.

Based in the company’s London office, Caballero is responsible for supporting and developing SMP songwriters, advancing collaboration efforts and delivering new opportunities across the global roster. Since joining Sony Music Publishing, she has gone on to sign prominent talent including breakthrough rap star Central Cee; Russ Millions, who is the first rapper to achieve a No. 1 drill in the US alongside Tion Wayne with “Body”; and Nemzzz, one of the UK’s most exciting new rappers.

Shauni Caballero said, “I’m honoured to join Sony Music Publishing, I couldn’t wish for a better and more supportive team. I am eternally grateful to Sarah Lockhart, Tim Major, David Ventura and Jon Platt for believing in me and trusting my vision. I can’t wait to make history.”

“Shauni is a true self-made executive and one of the most talented A&R’s in the industry. Her journey has been exemplary and inspiring, whilst her drive is unstoppable. She has such an intuitive and genuine way of working with artists and songwriters, we feel blessed to have her joining the team,” said Sony Music Publishing UK President, Co-Managing Director and SVP International David Ventura.

Sarah Lockhart, Head of A&R, Sony Music Publishing UK said, “Shauni is a natural boss! She paved her own lane and she deserves all the amazing successes she has coming to her.”

An experienced creative executive, Shauni launched her music industry career as the founder of The Go 2 Agency, a music publishing, neighbouring rights and consultancy company which she established in 2017. Since then, she has worked with many of the biggest names in black music including Dig Dat, Kwenface, Switch OTR, Rimzee and many more.

Throughout her career, Caballero has been featured on Music Week’s 2021 Women in Music Roll Of Honour, was named best music publisher at the 2022 Young Music Boss Awards and was named one of Complex’s 2022 ’15 Black British Music Execs Shaking The System’.
