Ludacris’ Early DJ Days Inspire New BET+ Series

Ludacris, acclaimed rapper and actor, is diving into a new realm with a + series inspired by his experiences as the up-and-coming DJ Chris Lova Lova. This currently untitled dramedy is being developed by Black Entertainment Television’s service, drawing from Ludacris’ competitive beginnings in the Atlanta music scene.

The series promises to capture the dynamic and often challenging world of a radio station, focusing on the lengths its characters go to boost their . It’s penned by Noah Gardenswartz, known for his work on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” and he will also serve as an executive producer.

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges not only brings his to the series but also contributes as the music supervisor and executive producer. The project is a collaboration with his own label, Disturbing Tha , co-founded with manager Chaka Zulu, who is also on board as an executive producer.

Joining Ludacris in the production team are industry heavyweights like Larry Wilmore, former correspondent for “The Daily Show” and host of “The Nightly Show,” and Malcolm D. Lee of Blackmaled Productions. Lee, who has previously directed like “Girls Trip” and “Night School,” is fresh off his work on “The Best Man: The Final Chapters” for Peacock, a Universal TV-backed series.

This new venture marks a reunion for Ludacris with Universal Television, following his role in the studio’s film division , “Fast and the Furious.” Other executive producers include Dominique Telson from Blackmaled Productions, Jeff Dixon from Disturbing Tha Peace, Josh Bratman, and David Blackman from Polygram Entertainment.
