“GNARLY!” offers another glimpse into JELEEL!’s upcoming debut album REAL RAW!, following his last single “RIDE THE WAVE!” which The FADER hailed calling JELEEL! “a relative newcomer quickly taking world by storm and stealing some hearts in the process.”REAL RAW! is slated to arrive this Spring.
“GNARLY! is one of those ones that just came together effortlessly,” says JELEEL! “After the session, I ran into Armani White at a party and ended up showing him the song, and just a day or two after that he sent his verse and we turned it in. I’m excited for people to hear it as I haven’t really shown my rap flow as much and it’s definitely a side of me that people are going to hear a lot more of.”
The track made its live debut last weekend at Rolling Loud Los Angeles, where Armani White surprised fans during JELEEL!’s electric set to perform the song with him. The festival performance continues to cement JELEEL! as one of the most captivating performers on the rise, following appearances at the Rolling Loud New York, Made In America, Rolling Loud Miami and more.
After an explosive year, receiving praise from the likes of Complex, XXL, The FADER and Pigeons & Planes, JELEEL! wrapped up 2022 with recognition on “Best New Artist” lists spanning HotNewHipHop to Pigeons & Planes.
Entering 2023, he continued his momentum releasing “RIDE THE WAVE!” and land ing spots on “Artist to Watch 2023” round ups from Complex, Pigeons & Planes, Alt Press, HipHopDX and Ones to Watch. He also was hand selected as a GRAMMYs NextGen Artist, performing at a showcase during the week leading up and walking the red carpet at the award show.
