Matt Ginn has been promoted to Division President of Community Markets at iHeartMedia, overseeing 30 markets across the Midsouth, South Carolina, Georgia, Southwest, and Texas regions.
In this new role, Ginn will help local sales teams improve efficiency by providing them with the necessary tools, training, and best practices to deliver solid results and measurable value for advertisers in an ever-changing media landscape. Ginn will report directly to John Karpinski, President of Community Markets.
Karpinski expressed excitement about Ginn’s rare combination of experience in sales leadership, sales enablement, and revenue strategy, which he believes will further iHeartMedia’s commitment to driving results for advertisers.
Ginn’s knowledge of high-performing organizations will be key to accelerating iHeartMedia’s successes.
Before joining iHeartMedia, Ginn was Head of Sales Enablement and Business Development at TEGNA, where he was instrumental in shaping enterprise revenue strategies and modernizing sales processes.
Ginn expressed his excitement about joining iHeartMedia, saying he is eager to collaborate with the sales teams, focus on building trust, delivering results for advertisers, and driving long-term brand value through the power of audio and human connection.
Alongside Ginn’s promotion, iHeartMedia also announced Wayne Jones as the new Metro President for the Texas Community Markets.
Jones will oversee operational sales efficiency in Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Waco, McAllen, and Bryan. Jones, who previously served as Director of Sales and Business Development at Urban One in Houston for nine years, will report to Ginn.
