Rashan Ali to Provide Pre-Game Exclusives for 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl

ATLANTA, GA – December 30 – Atlanta-based media personality Rashan Ali will join an elite group of African American female sportscasters on national networks as a correspondent for the Preview Show for the 2010 Chic Fil A Bowl. The Preview Show will run a total of four times on both ESPN U and ESPN 2, beginning on Wednesday, December 30th at 2:00 PM (EST) on ESPN 2.

For over 40 years, the Chick Fil A Bowl has remained a Georgia tradition and one of the most popular college football bowl games, and will be broadcast live from the Georgia Dome on Thursday, December 31, when Tennessee and Virginia Tech face off in this exciting post-season rivalry. Join Rashan Ali for exclusive interviews with legendary Virginia Tech Head Coach Frank Beamer, Tennessee’s Head Coach Lane Kiffin, and some of the game’s key players like ACC Rookie of the Year Ryan Williams of Virginia Tech, projected first-round NFL draft pick Eric Berry of Tennessee and much more.

Rashan Ali is no stranger to the world of sports, and has built a successful career as a respected voice on an array of sports as a former reporter for the Atlanta Hawks and a lead sports commentator on Hot 107.9 FM. In 2006, she also established a non-profit called Sporty Girls, whose mission is to cultivate, enrich and challenge young women to participate in non-traditional sports while developing and fostering life skills.

“I am honored at the opportunity to provide my unique commentary and perspective about the 2010 Chick Fil A Bowl,” said Ali. “As an Atlanta native, I grew up watching this game with my dad, so having the chance to interview legendary coaches and promising players is a dream come true.”

The air dates and times for the Preview Show include: Wednesday, December 30th at 2:00 PM on ESPN 2 and at 2:30 PM ET on ESPNU, Thursday, December 31 on ESPNU at midnight and Thursday, December 31 at 9:00 PM EST on ESPNU.
