The esteemed members of Brilliant Minds Collective, Inc. proudly welcome seasoned music industry veteran Cynthia Johnson as our new Board Chairperson. It is our belief that under Johnson’s leadership and guidance in her new position, the collective will continue to expand our ability to empower our communities across the country.

“I have had the privilege of knowing Cynthia Johnson for three decades. I respect her tremendously. Her extensive background, her relentless drive and commitment to excellence, superb leadership, and passion for strengthening our communities will bring critical perspective and depth to our Board,” explains Brilliant Minds Collective Founder Tyesh Harris.

Currently serving as Vice President of Urban Radio Promotions at Epic Records, Johnson established herself among the most capable leaders in the entertainment industry.

The Notre Dame alumna holds a B.A. in Marketing and supported or led both local and national campaigns for several major recording artists including DJ Khaled, Future, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Maxwell to name a few, along with notable brands as HBO, Roc Nation, and Powerbase Music. She held vital leadership roles at several major companies like Columbia Records, J Records, and Warner Bros Records.

The totality of her vast senior management experiences makes her an immeasurable asset to Brilliant Minds Collective and the culture as a whole.

“I learned about Brilliant Mind Collective from Tyesh Harris. She formed the organization to help make a difference in society that will elevate marginalized communities and change the trajectory of their lives.  When she asked me to join, I immediately agreed,” Cynthia Johnson explains. “

As the organization grew from an idea to a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, so did its membership and ideas to make a difference in the world.  The members of the Brilliant Mind Collective are smart compassionate people who can continue to solve the problem of disenfranchisement and help give a voice to those who may not have one now.  I am proud and happy to serve as the Board Chairperson.

In my role, I plan to guide the conversations and work to fulfill our goals to uplift our community by identifying problems we can solve and set out to solve them.”
