Apple has unveiled the first developer beta of iOS 26.4, which introduces a new artificial intelligence feature for Apple Music known as ‘Playlist Playground.’ This innovative tool allows users to create custom playlists based on text descriptions, enhancing the user experience through personalized music curation.
Users can access Playlist Playground by tapping the new playlist icon located in the upper-right corner of the Library page within the Apple Music app. Once activated, users can input a text prompt, prompting Apple Music to generate a playlist tailored to their request. The feature also includes built-in prompts labeled ‘New Playlist Ideas’ to inspire users in their playlist creation.
Upon generating a playlist, users have the flexibility to refine it further by entering additional prompts, allowing for an iterative approach to playlist customization. Additionally, users can manually add or remove songs and reorder tracks as desired. If the new option does not appear after updating to iOS 26.4, users may need to wait for the Apple Intelligence models to download, which can be checked in the Settings app under ‘Apple Intelligence & Siri.’
Currently, iOS 26.4 is available exclusively to developer beta testers, with a public beta release anticipated in the coming weeks.
