Alex Da Kid on Writing “Airplanes”

Broadcast Music, Inc. presented its annual pre-GRAMMY event, “How I Wrote That Song,” on January 25, 2014, at The House of Blues West Hollywood. The panel featured a diverse mixture of hitmakers including GRAMMY-nominated writer Linda Perry, ACM and CMA award-winning wordsmith Dallas Davidson, GRAMMY-nominated MC Wiz Khalifa, GRAMMY-nominated producer Alex Da Kid and GRAMMY-nominated luminary Charlie Wilson.

The panel, moderated by Catherine Brewton, BMI Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, Atlanta, focused on the process of writing, producing and performing hit songs, with each panelist sharing anecdotal stories on how their greatest hits came to be.
