The scholarship was presented by Foundation President Deirdre Chadwick.

“It is always thrilling to meet a brilliant young person with so much creativity and purpose to share with the world,” said Chadwick. “Being able to offer them some career assistance at a critical time makes it even more special.”

The peermusic Latin Music Scholarship honors emerging songwriters for original compositions in any Latin genre. Established by peermusic CEO Ralph Peer II in 2003, this program has encouraged many promising creators who have gone on to successful careers in the fields of television, film, recorded music, and concert performance.

Ángela’s original composition “Ekiss” was selected for this honor by a panel of judges including peermusic Vice Presidents Julio Bagué and Yvonne Drazan, as well as other industry luminaries.

In response to the award, Ángela said, “I am incredibly grateful I have been granted this award. It is a great help to continue pursuing my studies and dreams.”
