Sony Music Publishing Wins 2022 BMI Publisher of the Year

BMI yesterday revealed the honorees for the 2022 R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, and Sony Music Publishing was named Publisher of the Year with a total of 20 top-performing songs.

Sony Music Publishing songwriters and composers achieved top honors for their contributions on the biggest R&B/Hip-Hop songs of the past year, including “Calling My Phone” by Lil Tjay, “Essence” by Wizkid; “Heartbreak Anniversary” by Giveon; “Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow; “Way 2 Sexy” by Drake ft. Future; and many more. Additionally, SMP songwriters Giveon and Bernard “HARV” Harvey won Song of the Year for “Peaches” by Justin Bieber.

Sony Music Publishing EVP, Head of A&R Walter Jones said, “Congratulations to the Sony Music Publishing songwriter honorees � we are proud to champion your creativity as you continue to write the future of Hip-Hop and R&B. I also want to thank the BMI team for honoring our team and recognizing SMP’s songwriters for their many achievements.”

SMP’s 2022 honorees include Adam Rich Foster, Ambezza, Bernard “HARV” Harvey, Bobby Sessions, Charalambos Antoniou, Craig Love, Giveon, Henock Siyoum, Julian Mason, Kanye West, aka Ye, Kelvin Wooten, Luis Campozano, Jason Avalos, Jonathan Priester, Maneesh Bidaye, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Tjay, Lil Nas X, Noah Pettigrew, Pardison Fontaine, Rico Beats, Rod Wave, Ryan Vojtesak, Tahj Money, Tems, TM88, Tobias Dekker and Wizkid.
