The 67th GRAMMY Awards nominees were revealed on Friday, and Sony Music Publishing songwriters and composers achieved an impressive showing with nominations across major categories including Producer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist and Album of the Year.Beyoncé emerged as the lead contender with eleven total nominations for her #1 album Cowboy Carter including Album of the Year, Country Album of the Year, as well as Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Texas Hold ’Em,” co-written by Killah B, Ink and Nate Ferraro. The achievement marks a landmark milestone, with Beyoncé becoming the most nominated artist in history with ninety-nine total nominations.SMP’s Big Four nominees also include Charli XCX, who ranked among the leading nominees with seven nods including Album and Record of the Year for BRAT and “360,” respectively; as well as Chappell Roan, who earned six nods and clenched all of the Big Four nominations thanks to The Rise And Fall of a Midwest Princess (nominated for Album of the Year) and “Good Luck, Babe!” (nominated for Record and Song of the Year). Additionally, Lady Gaga was nominated for Song of the Year for “Die With A Smile”; while Julian Bunetta landed a Record of the Year nod for his work on Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.”In the Songwriter of the Year category, Edgar Barrera was nominated for a second year in a row thanks to his success with Karol G, Carin Leon, Peso Pluma and more. Producer of the Year nominations went to Dan Nigro, for his work on Chappell Roans’ The Rise And Fall of a Midwest Princess and “Good Luck, Babe!,” which also earned him Record and Song of the Year nods; Mustard, in recognition of his work on Kendrick Lamar’s viral hit “Not Like Us,” co-written by Sounwave; Alissia, for her work with Jamila Woods, Rae Khalil, BJ the Chicago Kid, Lion Babe and more; and Ian Fitchuk, thanks to his contributions on Kacey Musgraves’ Deeper Well.Top SMP nominees also include Usher for R&B Album of the Year; Tems for R&B Song of the Year, Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album; Latto for Best Melodic Rap Performance; Lainey Wilson for Country Album of the Year; Ashley Gorley, Charlie Handsome, Hoskins and Josh Osborne for Country Song of the Year; Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan for Best Country Duo/Group Performance; Bleeding Finger’s Hans Zimmer and Kara Talve for Best Song Written For Visual Media; Shakira, Anitta, Luis Fonsi and Kany Garcia for Best Latin Pop Album; Marc Anthony for Best Tropical Latin Album; and many more.
