Music Industry Drama Songs for Selina

The highly anticipated music-themed drama ‘Songs For Selina’ will premiere in Philippine cinemas on March 18. This film delves into the complexities of ambition within the music industry, showcasing the struggles and realities faced by aspiring artists.

Starring Mica Javier and Rachel Coates, the narrative follows the journey of Selina and Maya, two musical soulmates whose aspirations begin to fracture under the pressures of industry dynamics. What begins as a harmonious partnership evolves into a fierce competition for survival, highlighting the cutthroat nature of the music business.

Previously acquired for distribution in North America by platforms such as Amazon Prime and Tubi, ‘Songs For Selina’ returns to its roots, aiming to resonate with Filipino audiences through its authentic storytelling.

Executive producer Jay R, who also co-wrote and produced the film’s soundtrack, emphasizes the personal nature of the project. The music is intricately woven into the narrative, with each song designed to enhance the emotional depth of the story. The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Rachel Alejandro, Audie Gemora, Nicole Laurel, Leanne Mamonong, Gian Magdangal, and Jay R himself.

Produced by Homeworkz Entertainment and distributed locally by Black Cap Pictures, ‘Songs For Selina’ serves not only as a dramatic representation of the music industry but also as a commentary on its inherent challenges and truths.
