Splice Acquires Kits AI for Enhanced Vocal Tools

Splice, the global music creation platform, has acquired Kits AI, a platform using AI to help music creators generate, transform, and refine vocals in their productions.

Splice’s New Acquisition is a Game Changer for Music Producers

Kits AIs technology is certified Fairly Trained, which ensures responsible AI development, artist consent, and fair compensation.

The acquisition aligns with Splice’s long-term strategy to advance creator-first, generative AI tools that support artists in the music industry.

Kakul Srivastava, CEO of Splice, expressed that finding a team with shared values was crucial, highlighting Kits AIs commitment to responsible AI, including fair artist compensation.

Kits AI has developed cutting-edge vocal technologies, such as zero-shot voice cloning (IVC) and generative vocals (KGV1.0), both trained using fully licensed data. With this partnership, Splice is poised to accelerate the delivery of trusted AI tools to their creators.

Founded in 2021, Kits AI was a pioneer in introducing Licensed Artist Voice Models and has processed over 80 million minutes of vocals for its 7 million users. By joining Splice, Kits AI will further expand how artists, producers, and songwriters can leverage vocals as a creative instrument.

The team behind Kits AI, including co-founders Evan and Kyle Dhillon, will be joining Splice as part of the deal.

Evan Dhillon, co-founder of Kits AI, shared that their focus has always been on combining machine learning research with artist collaboration to provide responsible AI tools for music creation. Now, as part of Splice, Kits AI will continue to push the boundaries of innovation and shape the future of music creation.

This acquisition follows Splices purchase of Spitfire Audio in May 2025, which helped launch Splice’s INSTRUMENT product.

Additionally, Splice has made significant strides with partnerships, including its integration with Ableton and a December 2025 collaboration with Universal Music Group. These partnerships highlight Splices ambition to lead the charge in AI-powered music creation tools.
