Melbourne-based, vocalist, lyricist and world-class producer Vetta Borne is back with a heaving new track – “40-40” is out today via [PIAS] Australia. The brand-new hedonistic track, perfect for sweaty dancefloors, is about doing what you want, with who you want, without caring about the consequences of being seen.

Vetta Borne discusses, “40-40” is about the third date I had with this girl I had been crushing on for ages. By the third date, even though you both still don’t really know too much about each other, you know when there’s a vibe there. 40-40 is just laying that down on the table. I want you, and I know that you want me so, what are we waiting for?”
The visuals open with a close-up of Vetta Borne’s face, painted for the Gods, and sets the stage for a spectacle of high fashion and fierce choreography.

Commenting on the process, “I flew up to the Gold Coast to shoot with Jon (Jaen Collective). We got to set and got as creative as we could with what we had on location, which is one of my favourite ways of working. The choreography was choreographed by my best friend Miki Daely, somebody I completely adore. Make up by Michael Huxley (school of huxley) who were so amazing and were able to achieve the looks I wanted regardless of the heat (we shot in 30+ degrees!!)”
In exciting news, today the Melbourne artist has announced has signed to tastemaker label [PIAS] Australia – “I’m so excited to be working alongside PIAS. It’s a label I’ve admired for a really long time, and to have such a dedicated team supporting me is more than I could ask for. We’re going to do some really great things together!”

Vetta Borne’s star continues to soar; from being handpicked by Troye Sivan for the World Pride SongHubs in collaboration with APRA AMCOS to serenading triple j listeners’ with her take on Gwen Stefani’s “Cool” for Like A Version, her songwriting has been recognized by artists worldwide, like Charli XCX who covered her song “On Fire” with Carmada for Triple J’s Like A Version and Alicia Keys, who included Vetta Borne in her ‘Created by Women’ playlist.
She has also been selected to write with some of the most prolific songwriters around the globe including Oak Felder (Nicki Minaj, Demi Lovato) and Sarah Aarons (Zedd, Miley Cyrus).
The break-out artist has amassed over 8 million streams across platforms, been added to triple J rotation for her song “Kissing Strangers” and was spotlighted by triple j Unearthed as a Feature Artist, calling her an “acclaimed hitmaker.”
