French conglomerate Vivendi stated today that Lucian Grainge has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer of Universal Music Group. He will remain on �Vivendi’s board of directors and �was added to �the board at �the French conglomerate’s vidgame publisher Activision Blizzard, which is based in Santa Monica. The move comes on the heels of Sony Music last week hiring Doug Morris as its CEO.
