Universal Music Group Names Lucian Grainge Chairman and CEO

French conglomerate Vivendi stated today that Lucian Grainge has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer of Universal Music Group. He will remain on  Vivendi’s board of directors and  was added to  the board at  the French conglomerate’s vidgame publisher Activision Blizzard, which is based in Santa Monica. The move comes on the heels of Sony Music last week hiring Doug Morris as its CEO.
