Los Angeles based Producer and Music Director Gil Smith II, who has worked with superstar artists from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green, and lady gaga to international K-Pop stars Big Bang, has just been announced as ambassador of Samsung Galaxy Music’s Over The Horizon Remix Campaign. The new contest, which launches November 11, 2013 on www.playgalaxymusic.com and culminates December 16, 2013, will allow musicians to showcase their remixing skills online by creating and uploading their own versions of the official “Over The Horizon Remix” which was composed by Smith and his band around the signature Samsung melody. The song is featured in a short film featuring Smith and his band during the course of the song’s production in a Malibu recording studio and will be available as a ringtone for Galaxy mobile phones.”Technology is a crucial part of my everyday work as a musician and producer.
Samsung continues to provide the products and features that make it possible to innovate in new and exciting ways using a mobile platform.”The Over The Horizon Worldwide Remix event is open to anyone who has a passion for music. To participate: 1) First, listen to both the original version and remix sample of Over the Horizon and get fully inspired. 2) Then compose a new song or create a remix version using the main melody or theme of Over the Horizon. 3) Next, upload your song on the GALAXY music website 4) and last but not least, encourage your friends to “like” your song! Top 5 applicants will each win a Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear and the 1st prize winner will be granted the honor of their song being made into a GALAXY ringtone, which will be available for download to all Galaxy users via www.playgalaxymusic.com and Galaxy Music app.
