Salute THEM Awards Series ‘A Celebration of Culture’ Honors the Resilience of New Yorkers

The Café Mocha Network continues its ‘Stand in Soulidarity’ series ‘a celebration of culture’ by paying tribute to the Resilience of New York with the second Salute THEM [Together Heroes Emerge Momentous] Awards hosted by Emmy & 2x NAACP Image Award winner Loni Love streaming Black Friday, November 27, 2020 at 7PM EST on SaluteTHEMAwards.com.

Throughout history, NYC has not only been the center of some of the biggest events on the planet, but it has also repeatedly shown that its people and their will to survive is unmatchable. Many times, The Big Apple set the standard on which the country and the world use to rebound and power forward through generations.

The evening’s honorees include Grammy Award-winning Queen of Rock & Soul, Author, Actress and Philanthropist Patti LaBelle, Hip Hop Legend| Beat Box Creator Legendary| Get Fresh Crew Rapper |MC| Motivational Speaker Doug E. Fresh, Principal Dancer, American Ballet Theatre Misty Copeland, Vice President, Community and Government Affairs at FreshDirect Larry Scott Blackmon, One of the first African American woman to own a bank in the United States Kiko Davis Snoddy, and Miss Liberia USA, Activist, and Organizer Nupol Kiazolu.

Salute THEM Awards will feature touching vignettes featuring ER Doctor Arabia Mollette, Aint Too Proud Broadway star Saint Aubyn, community activist Maria Davis and others on how they pivoted to make 2020 count.

Sisters from AARP will celebrate The Queen of Gospel Pastor Shirley Caesar with the Spirit Award and Toyota will present Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium founder, Dr. Ala Stanford, with their Champion Award.

Music Legends Nona Hendryx of The LaBelles and hip-hop icon Yo-Yo will deliver special tributes with performances from GRAMMY® Award nominees En Vogue, Jekalyn Carr, Quincy Jones protégé Shelea who portrayed gospel singer Dorinda Clark Cole in Lifetime’s The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel, “The Soul Assassin” Kevin Ross, and a soul-stirring tribute by BET Sunday Best Alum Danetra Moore honoring Ms. Patti LaBelle.

Prior to the awards at 6pm, join Café Mocha for Chic Boutique highlighting black-owned businesses and products during a virtual reception hosted by pop culture influencer Jawn Murray.
