Music Sector: Key Appointments and Promotions

The music industry continues to see significant shifts in personnel as various companies announce new hires and promotions. As of March 6th, 2026, several notable appointments have been made across different organizations, reflecting the dynamic nature of the sector.

beatBread has made headlines with three key hires. Christine Barnum, the former COO of CD Baby, has taken on the role of head of financial operations. Additionally, Michael Poole has joined as CFO, coming from outsourcing specialist Countsy. To further enhance their technological capabilities, beatBread has also brought on Jameson Toole, a former machine learning engineer at Spotify, as a board advisor focused on AI and machine learning.

In another significant move, Moises has appointed pop sensation Charlie Puth as its chief music officer, indicating a strategic push to leverage his industry expertise. Meanwhile, Sony Music Publishing has recognized the long-standing contributions of Michael Riggs by promoting him to Senior Vice President of licensing and income tracking, a role he will undertake after nearly three decades with the company.

On the broadcasting front, iHeartMedia’s 710 WOR is set to welcome Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City mayoral candidate, as a co-host for its weekday morning show starting March 9th. In contrast, WME has seen the departure of Lucy Dickins, who has been with the agency for seven years and most recently served as the global head of contemporary music and touring.

In the country music realm, Damon Whiteside has announced his intention to step down as CEO of the Academy of Country Music after more than six years in leadership. He will transition to the role of CEO Emeritus for the remainder of 2026. Additionally, Broadcast Music, Inc. has appointed John Powenski as Senior Vice President and chief HR officer, while PRS for Music CEO Andrea Czapary Martin is set to leave her position at the end of 2026. Lastly, Ticketmaster International’s CTO Carlos Alvarez-Coch has departed amid ongoing antitrust litigation, marking another significant change within the company. Metro Public Relations has also welcomed Ariana Sacco as a music-division account supervisor, further expanding their team.
