Pluto TV Summer Popcorn Challenge at Westfield Century City

This past weekend, Pluto TV launched its “Summer of Cinema” programming event with a lively and interactive celebration at Westfield Century City. The free streaming service invited fans to dive into a popcorn-filled experience with Pluto TV’s Popcorn Challenge—a fun, fast-paced stunt designed for movie lovers of all ages. Set up in the mall’s Atrium, the event featured a giant popcorn box installation packed with flying popcorn.

Participants had 20 seconds—tracked by a massive countdown clock—to catch as much popcorn as possible. Guests who entered the challenge were automatically treated to a complimentary bag of popcorn, setting the stage for a festive, cinema-themed afternoon. The stakes were high and the rewards were sweet.

Fans who managed to collect the most popcorn—or snag special golden kernels—had the chance to win exciting prizes, including Pluto TV beach kits, gourmet movie snack boxes, Bluetooth headphones, speakers, and more. Held on Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. PT, the Popcorn Challenge created a buzz among shoppers, families, and cinephiles, adding an extra dose of summer fun to the weekend.

The celebration marks the start of Pluto TV’s “Summer of Cinema,” a major seasonal initiative offering hundreds of blockbuster films and beloved franchises on the platform. Viewers can enjoy iconic titles like Mission: Impossible, Indiana Jones, Terminator, Star Trek, Interstellar, and The Wolf of Wall Street—all available for free. With epic movies and memorable in-person moments, Pluto TV is making this summer one to remember.
